Osteopathy… so what is it?
An osteopath is a healthcare professional who practices osteopathy, a form of manual therapy focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders. Osteopaths use hands-on techniques to improve the body's structure and function, focusing on the joints, muscles, and spine.
Osteopaths treat a variety of conditions such as back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, headaches, and arthritis. Their approach is holistic, meaning they consider how different parts of the body work together and how they might contribute to pain or dysfunction. Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners, and they often work alongside other healthcare providers to offer a well-rounded team approach to patient care.
Osteopaths also provide advice on lifestyle, posture, and exercise rehab to help support long-term health outside of the clinic setting.
There is absolutely no reason why you have to stop doing the things you love because your body decided to have a tantrum!
Living with pain and discomfort is not the answer!
When should I see an osteopath?
An Osteopath can help you in a number of ways. For some it will be the management and treatment of acute pain, for others, it will be the treatment of chronic conditions with a more goal orientated approach.
Can’t put your shoes and socks on without pain? Having difficulty walking, running or sleeping? The grandkids want to be picked up but you just can’t? These are some of the reasons!
